Lumi Printing – Printing With Light
Another Kickstarter project I love. By applying a special light sensitive dye to a fabric, any piece of clothing can become a piece of photo paper. Create a negative of your preferred image on a piece of transparent film, put it on the prepared piece of clothing and expose to the sun. Once the fabric is washed, the unexposed dye is flushed out and the exposed dye is fixed. Imagine the possibilities…
A pledge of 35 U$ will get you a starter kit.

«One Life?» Video for Kaleidoscope String Quartet
I just completed this video a couple of days ago. It is for a track called «One Life?» by the Kaleidoscope String Quartet. In it's original version it is purely strings. This video is for the remix by Patrik Zeller, who brought in some drums and electronic noodlings.
The epic scope of the sound inspired me to try timelapse photography for the first time. Little did I know, how much time this technique requires. For one minute of video you need 60 times 25 pictures, which makes 1500 individual photos. For a video of about six minutes length this means 9000 images. Considering you cannot use all the material and you need some room to play during editing, i reckon I must have taken between 15'000 and 20'000 photos for this project. Mind you, I'm very pleased with the result.

LYTRO Light Field Camera

Until this morning I'd never heard of light field photography. Now I know a little more. A light field camera not only records colour information and intensity of the incoming light rays, but also their direction. With this additional info the camera can internally build a 3D image of the photographed scene and the depth of field can be set after a picture was taken.
LYTRO has now announced to launch such a light field camera this year.
Exciting new technology!
