Lumi Printing – Printing With Light

Another Kickstarter project I love. By applying a special light sensitive dye to a fabric, any piece of clothing can become a piece of photo paper. Create a negative of your preferred image on a piece of transparent film, put it on the prepared piece of clothing and expose to the sun. Once the fabric is washed, the unexposed dye is flushed out and the exposed dye is fixed. Imagine the possibilities…

Printing Reflectance Functions

Fascinating new printing technology. Printed images that reflect light like a 3-dimensional object. This is achieved by using a new kind of paper with microscopic indentations like a golfball. The effect of this is best seen in the video by the researchers. For more info visit their website.

Osaka Station City Water Print

I posted this, just because I think it's pretty. Computer controlled waterjets create freefalling patterns. Quite ingenious! Apparently it is the so called «Space Printer» technology by KOEI Co, from Osaka, Japan.

PrintBrush 4x6

PrintBrush is a nifty little idea by Swedish company PrintDreams. Basically it's a digital camera, with a built in printer. By swiping the printer across any surface you brush the photo onto your canvas. Ingenious!
