Starlings come in huge flocks. When they gather to migrate they form amazing moving sculptures in the sky called murmurations.

This happens without external coordination or common communication. Each bird follows a set of instructions. From the outside it looks like an intelligence is at work here.

Nuthatches are fascinating little birds. They can climb upside down, which is a rare skill. There used to be a big tree outside my bedroom window and i could watch a busy nuthatch going up and down it's stem nearly every day.
