Invisible Motion in Video

Scientists from the MIT have amazed me once again.
They have developed a method to amplify minute movements and colour changes in videos, to reveal literally a new world of information. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to embed the video, but if you klick here, this will take you to the full article with the film on the New York Times Blog.
At the website of Quanta Research Cambridge you can upload your own video to be enhanced by the team.

OLPC XO-3

The OLPC (one laptop per child) initiative originally started by Nick Negroponte of the MIT Media-Lab has just presented the follow up to their 100$ laptop at the CES in Las Vegas. The Poverty Action Lab

This affects far more people than a well designed object and in my opinion is a great project!
The Poverty Action Lab has developed novel approaches to evaluate the impact of foreign aid programmes. Through their research they come to some surprising insights and conclusions on what actually helps the fight against poverty and what doesn't. A website well worth a visit and Esther Duflo is woman well worth listening to!
