Wooden bike by Japanese Designer Yojiro Oshima

For his final project at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Yojiro Oshima designed and built a completely wooden bike.
The cantilevered seat rest acts as suspension, as does the sprung shape of the wooden spokes.
Every detail is considered to make best use of the materials properties and offer a more comfotrable ride. I love seeing such ideas coming together!

Brooks Saddles

Every «real» cyclist knows Brooks leather saddles.
Hand made by mustachioed men from real leather in good old blighty.
Having owned a couple of these living fossils I recently came across their website. Love it – as good as their products!

Cherubim bikes at NAHBS

Cherubim bikes from Japan won best of show at the NAHBS – North American Handmade Bike Show – with this highly unusual bike. I'm not a fan of fixies, but this bike looks tempting…
Fantastic craftmanship and unusual details.
Other bikes from the NAHBS can be found on the urban velo website.
