Flying never ceases to fascinate me. Not flown myself for a long time now, but maybe I'll tap into my bird-genes again soon. And seeing this guy take off and land – who needs runways anyway? The film is from the STOL (short takeoff and landing) competition in Valdez, Alaska. This is novice pilot Bobby Breeden in a plane he modified with his dad. Check out the whole story at wired.com.
