Emily Cummins has won the Outstanding Yound Person of the World award for the solar fridge she invented. The 23 year old inventor has come up with the ide of a double walled vessel. The space between the walls can be filled with sand, earth, fabric or other materials that can absorb water. Through holes in the outer layer of the vessel, the water evaporates, which cools the interior to 6° C. What a fantastically simple, straightforward idea!
